Questions about our Inpatient Facility
May I have a private room? A: Private rooms are available at our inpatient unit. If a private room is not available at time of admission you may put your name on the waiting list or ask about one of the many care centers that we contract with in the community.
May I spend the night at the inpatient unit? A: Cots are available for the bedside or the Hospitality House (1 block away from the hospice) may be available for use. Check with your social worker for availability.
What are visiting hours? A: Patients in facilities are still able to be visited 24 hours a day. All visitors should check in with staff at each different facility.
What things should I bring to the inpatient unit? A: Clothing and toiletries are helpful. Dress clothes may be worn if activity warrants otherwise, bedclothes are suitable. We have limited space for some larger items.
What are the dots on some of patient name signs at the doors at the inpatient unit? A: Gold dots tell the staff that the person in the room has a danger of falling. Green dots tell us that the hospice does personal laundry. Red dots tell us that the patient needs help eating or getting ready to eat. Blue dots tell us that the patient is on a toileting program.
